Snow Waves

Chicago is prepping for a big snow storm and I couldn’t be more excited 😀

As of right now it’s being predicted that we will get around 12 – 18 inches of snow.  Plus, winds could possibly increase to 30 to 40 mph with gusts of 50 – 60 mph.  All though all of this is pretty impressive, the one thing I’ve been shocked to read is that these strong winds could cause 14 – 18 foot waves with occasional waves up to 25 feet!!!  Are you kidding me?  How can a lake have waves that big!

However, if I’ve learned one thing in Chicago, it’s to not get too excited about predicted snow storms.  More often than not they seem to pass by downtown and we only get a dusting 🙁  I’m hoping this will not be the case over the next few days but only time will tell.

Lunch

Last week Patrick and I tried out a new lunch place called Freshii.  I liked it so much that I wanted to try it out again today.

Freshii is a place where you can custom build your food (salads, wraps, bowls, soup ) which will be made fast with fresh ingredients.  I love the concept and it’s so much better for me than the other fast food places in the area.

I ordered a grilled wrap with romaine, carrots, broccoli, celery, sweet corn, cucumbers, black beans, Cajun chicken and light cucumber dill dressing:

with a side of honey dijon for dipping:

I was so excited to dig into this wrap especially since I had the exact same wrap last week and it was delicious!

I’m sad to say this time around the wrap was not good at all.  I don’t know what exactly tasted bad about it but I only hate half and then tossed the rest.  Big time bummer!

Dinner

After not eating much lunch I was beyond hungry when dinner time rolled around.  Patrick offered to cook us up some frozen pizza, so frozen pizza is what we had.

Couple slices of “well done” pepperoni pizza:

Pizza never disappoints.  Thanks Patrick!

Well, it’s late so I’m going to catch some shut eye.

Blog atcha’ later!  Hopefully from a winter wonderland 😀
