Google Tips

If you are reading this post it means you probably spend some time on the internet.  If you spend time on the internet you’ve probably used google.

I do a lot of searching on google and thought I would share some ways I go about finding what I want fast!

(“”) Phrase Search – using quotes around a set of words tells google to only consider those exact words in the exact order you have them written.  Example, type “Michael J Fox” and you will get results with that exact phrase mentioned.

(+) Search exact phrase or word – putting a + (without a space) before a word tells google to match that word exactly as you typed it.

(-) Words you would like to exclude – putting a minus sign right before a word means you do not want pages that contain that word to show in your results. Example, type Bears -football and you will get results for bears but none of the results will include anything about football.

(Site:) Search within a specific website – you are telling google to only look in the specified site for the search results. For example, type CNN:Money and you will only get results for money that are on the CNN website.

(*) Fill in the Blanks – Basically the * is a wild-card. Typing * within a search tells google to treat the asterisk as a placeholder for any unknown terms and find the best matches. Example, type Natalie Portman won * award at the * , google will provide results with the name of the award and at what award show she won it at.

I’m sure there are a lot of other tips people have so feel free to share what works for you in the comments!

Breakfast

This mornings eats were MUCH healthier than yesterdays.

A cup of hearty steel cut oats topped with PB from Potbelly’s.

Good and filling 😀

Lunch

It was another busy day filled with conference calls and meetings. Unlike yesterday, I made sure to get some lunch in my belly even if it was at 3:00pm. Late lunch is better than no lunch.

Freshii build your own salad with lettuce, corn, celery, broccoli, cucumbers, carrots, sunflower seeds, parm cheese topped with balsamic.

and a San Pellegrino to wash it down.

Lunch Dessert

A fantastic chocolate chip cookie.

Dinner

Once we got home from work Patrick got busy with the pizza.  I had a couple slices of pineapple and canadian bacon.  Very good!

All the eats for the night are complete and now I’m settling in to watch some more of Charlie Sheens shenanigans 😉

Blog atch later!
